business company and Approved Investment Manager under the Investment Business
(Approved Managers) Regulations 2012 of the Virgin Islands’ Securities and
Investment Business Act 2010.
JLC is expert in international investment
and tax structuring on a range of asset classes, including private equity,
venture capital investments, hedge funds, insurance company investment
products, short-term systematic trading, and litigation finance. JLC has
extensive experience of mutual fund reorganisations and wind-downs; and manages
pools of investments for family office and high net-worth individuals.
JLC does not solicit clients and relies on
its extensive contact base and experience for reverse-inquiry introductions to
clients. JLC does not provide advice to retail or non-professional clients.
JLC is headed by Jafar Omid, BSc, FCA, CertPFS, a former leading FCA-regulated investment manager
from the United Kingdom with over 40 years of experience in the financial
industry. All regulated financial advisory is provided in-house, but JLC
utilises non-financial advice back and middle office services (i.e. research,
legal, strategic and administrative services) of JL Capital Partners Ltd in the
UK, LHQ Services-FZ LLC in Dubai and a number of other
trusted associated entities with whom JLC Principals have had long-standing
business relationships.
